Blog number two-August 11th, 2007
Mood: irritated This is my second blog and I've yet to produced a finished project. I have so many story ideas, several summaries written, a few actually started, and one short story that need more work. I'm feeling quite frustrated at the moment. I want to get somewhere, get my writing career started but with so many interruptions and no time to write I feel I am going nowhere. Now, I need to be realistic here and put things into perspective in that I do work out full time and have a very active four year old and a husband who is a teacher who monopolizes our only computer; well, you get the idea. I've been wanting a computer of my own but with our current finance woes it is not possible. I guess what is also frustrating me is that I have a coworker who is also a writer and have already published online at least two books and several short stories. I am trying not to be jealous of her and it would not be fair to do be. We are two different individuals with varied backgrounds and circumstances. No, I need to be content with who I am and with what I do have. If I can focus on finishing one short story and getting that submitted I am at least heading in the right direction. Blog Number one-July 29th, 2007
Mood: chillin' This is my first blog entry with Angelfire. My name is Carrie and I live in the eastern part of NC. I am originally from upstate NY, more specifically the Adirondacks. So, I am a mountain girl not a city girl, even though that is where I spend most of my waking hours in(aka work). I've been married going on 8 years now and have a 4 year old son. Since becoming a mother I've struggled with trying to keep some sense of balance in my life, namely with writing. Writing is my passion; something I've discovered at the age of eleven and been doing ever since. Recently I've been wanting to take it to the next level; hence, I've created an account with Angelfire with the goal of recording my failures and successes as a wrtier who desire to become a successful published writer. I'd like to share my journey with whomever is interested and I am open to whatever advice, comment, etc. you would like to share with me. Some of my challenges, other than time, that I constantly wrestle with are the fact I have some disabilites. I have retinitis pigmentosa, more specifically Ushers Syndrome Type II, in that not only I have gradual vision loss (peripheral) I am also partially deaf. With being partially deaf I have struggled with grammar of which you may tell as you read my blogs and stories. I am open for any corrections in my stories in my pursuit to further grasp and master the concepts of grammar. I have no lack of imagination and I believe, as many have encouraged me, that I can be a successful writer. I plan to post a new blog periodically, accounting my daily or weekly writing journey and hope to begin posting short stores as well as chapter for a novel I have in mind (once I master this site). I believe that the internet can be a great tool to use as a growing writer.
Hope to see you again soon! |
